In July 1971 T.Rex led by the charismatic singer/songwriter Marc Bolan released
Get It on (AKA Bang A Gong)
Get It In was to become one of the bands best know singles and to consolidate the overwhelming success T.Rex had had with Hot Love earlier that year. The single was number on in the UK charts and proved to be the biggest single for T.Rex in the US.
Get It on was the last official single whilst T.Rex were with Fly Records.
The song has been recorded by a number of other artists including Marc’s very own Gloria Jones, Blondie, Def Leppard, The Vibes, WitchQueen.
